James Starnes, Jr

James Wadelo “J.W.” Starnes, Jr., age 67, of Beebe, Arkansas passed away December 19, 2021.  He was born March 25, 1954 in Biloxi, Mississippi, to James and Jessie Inglis Starnes.

He worked as a mail handler for the United States Post Office.  He was a US Marine during the Vietnam era. He was very active with his fellow veterans, helping them with any problems they would bring to him.

He was a very loving father, grandfather to his children and grandchildren. J.W. is survived by his children, Autumn Jessica Starnes of Beebe, Thomas Wadelo Starnes of Beebe, James Sayles of Missouri, Daniel Hadley of Searcy, and Julia Compton of Conway; his companion, Rita Starnes of Beebe; grandchildren, Aolani Starnes, Joseph Johnson, Jr. (both of Beebe), Lyric Compton of Conway, Daniel Hadley, Jr. of Searcy; brothers, Kenneth (Jeaniece) Starnes of Beebe, Sonny (Linda) Starnes of Lonoke and Kevin Starnes of Little Rock; sisters, Nancy (George) Marino of Cabot and Mary Ann Kitchens of Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jessie Inglis Starnes.

The family has decided to have a private memorial service at a later date. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.
