James C. Stanley

James C. Stanley, age 67, of Mount Ida, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022.

He was born on August 24, 1954, in Mount Ida, the son of G. W. Stanley, Jr. and Betty Jo Bates Stanley.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Mitchell Stanley.

James was a Christian in his faith.  He received a bachelor’s degree from the Southern State University in Magnolia.  James was employed by Keith-Smith Company as a field service manager for several years and he retired in 2019, after 15 years of service from the city of Mount Ida as a supervisor.  James loved history, especially the founding of Montgomery County and any history of the Civil War.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed his time with his hunting buddies at “Dead Mule Deer Camp”, located at Muddy Creek Refuge.  James adored going to his cousin’s children and grandchildren’s ball games and any family get together.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

James is survived by his sister, Jolene and Don Harrison of New Blaine; his niece, Betty Ray of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; his nephew, Jason and Kelly Ray of Charlotte, North Carolina; his great-nephew, Bohdan Dukat; his great-niece, Ella Ray; and extended family members and many wonderful friends.
