James Calvin Spears "Jim", 57, of Vilonia, Arkansas left this world Tuesday, April 12, 2016 for his Heavenly home. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army and Arkansas Army National Guard. He was born at Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas on January 29, 1959. Jim was raised in the countryside of Beebe and moved to the Vilonia area in 2002.
Jim is survived by three brothers, Greg, Tim and Gary Spears; one sister, Honey Jo Spears; five nephews; eight nieces; six great-nephews and five great-nieces. He also leaves behind his friends and brothers in arms, the Gunter family and two very special ladies that cared for him daily.
Preceding him in death were paternal and maternal grandparents; his momma and daddy, Jean and Fred Spears; brother Freddy Spears; nephew Elijah Spears; several uncles and aunts; and a few of his cousins.
Jim will be laid to rest in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock but his soul is alive in a new body, free from any worry or pain! Jim is rejoicing with Jesus, angels and his family who have been waiting for him in Heaven.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2016, at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, a certified Veterans Funeral Care provider.
