James Rubert Rowell

James Rubert Rowell, age 85, of Austin, Arkansas went to be with the Lord February 20, 2023.  He was born on January 6, 1938, in Ward, Arkansas to Fred and Fannie Hurt Rowell.

He pastored churches in Texas and was the Associate Pastor of several churches in Arkansas.  Rubert retired from American Home Life and Smith Family Funeral Home in North Little Rock.  He was a member of North Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Rubert is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Sidney Charlene Rowell; one son, Nelson (Barbara) Rowell of Austin, Arkansas; one grandson, James Nelson Rowell II (Emily); one great grandson, Tony King of Austin, Arkansas; one sister, Alice Faye Plante of Rogers, Arkansas as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by Warren Rowell, Lillie Roe, Charlie Rowell, Katherine Rowell and George Hubert Rowell.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 23^rd from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.  Services are Friday, February 24^th at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home.  Interment in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
