James Floyd Roeder, of Maumelle, passed away on November 1st, 2022 at the age of 85.
James was born on June 16th, 1937 to James Elmer Roeder and Ada Mae Roeder. He came from a large family. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
He graduated high school in 1955 from Earle High School where he grew up. He was the Captain of the football team. His nickname was “Captain-Ada” after his mother.
He then went into the Military and was a member of the United States Air Force from 1955-1963. He was ranked as Airman First Class.
He married his sweetheart, our mama, on October 4th, 1961. They had four children and were married for 56 years before she passed.
After the military, he went on the Christian Brothers College and graduated with his MBA in May of 1969. He received his license as a Master Electrician and worked at AP&L for many years as an electrical engineer.
He then took his many skills and fulfilled his dream of starting his own business. He became a licensed builder and achieved a successful family business that consisted of building beautiful homes, apartments and rent houses. He was the hardest working man and a wonderful provider for his family.
James is survived by his four children; sons, Blake Roeder and Bradley Roeder and wife, Teri, of Maumelle; daughters, Tricia Jackson and husband Jonathan, of Maumelle and Dianne Headrick and husband, Gerald, of Springfield, AR; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Edna Leaptrot of Marion, AR.
He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Smith-Little Rock Funeral Home with service immediately to follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle.
