James Charles Reese went home to Jesus Christ to be with his loved ones on April 22, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Reese, and son, Tony Reese, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
James was born on February 18, 1950 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Bob and Mary Reese. He served in the US Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War Era. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans in Arkansas.
James is survived by his Mother, Mary Roden and Stepfather August Roden of Eldorado, Texas, daughter Stacie Broome of South Carolina. Grandchildren Nathan Friday, Taylor Strickland, Keiten Miller, Zach Woods, Kristen Reese, and Phillip Reese, all of South Carolina and Olivia Broome of Eldorado, Texas, and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by stepbrother Bradley Roden, stepsisters Dorothy Dacy and husband Monroe, and Rita Meador all of Eldorado, Texas.
James was a devoted son, father, and papa. He was an avid Razorback fan. He enjoyed playing his guitar, camping and fishing.

A very special thanks to Father Casey Burkhouse of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Sonora, Texas for his kindness and compassion for James and his family during these difficult days. Services will be held at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home on April 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Visitation with the family will be on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
