James Redman

James L. "Jim" Redman, 62, of North Little Rock, passed away Monday, April 4, 2011. He was the Executive Director of the North Little Rock Housing Authority. Jim was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church and Past President of the North Little Rock Optimist Club.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kay Lynn Redman; son, James C.A. "Jimbo" Redman of Salt Lake City, Utah; daughter, Kaylin Lee Hart, son-in-law, Michael Hart and grandson, Preston James Hart, all of Mobile, Alabama; two sisters, Rhonda Isbell of Austin and Marilyn Robertson of Cabot; one niece and two nephews; and many other family members and friends.
Jim, the son of the late Clyde and Emma Redman, was a University of Central Arkansas graduate. He was employed by the North Little Rock Housing Authority in August, 2001 and was promoted to Executive Director in November, 2002. He dreamed of leading the agency to a "High Performer" designation and made that dream a reality last year when the North Little Rock Housing Authority became a "High Performer." Throughout his tenure as Executive Director, Jim served with his colleagues on various committees of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials. He also served as the Chairman of the Senior Citizens Commission.
Jim is a former Sales Executive for Motorola, Inc. and was also the owner of Central AR Communications, Inc. As an avid outdoorsman and sportsman, he was a longtime member of Brushy Hunting Club and a dedicated Razorback fan.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, 758-1170. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday before the service. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
