James Henry Rampey, Jr., 67, of Little Rock, passed away October 1, 2014. Born in Little Rock to James Henry Rampey, Sr. and Mary Hulda Rogers, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War for which he was awarded the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. He received a B.S. degree in Business Administration at the University of Arkansas in 1974.
Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his sister, Nancy Rampey-Biniamow and husband, Alan; nieces, Leslie Knobbe (Roger) and September Wanzenried (Brian), all of Omaha, Nebraska; nephew, Major Thomas M. Jones (Lt. Col. Heidi) of Leesville, Louisiana; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 8 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Services with Military Honors will be Thursday, October 9 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Dr. Bob Dunaway. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or to the Humane Society of Pulaski County, 14600 Colonel Glenn Rd., Little Rock, AR 72210.
