James Ragsdale Jr.

James E. Ragsdale, Jr., age 66, of Glenwood, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023.

He was born on October 22, 1956, in Chicopee, Massachusetts, the son of James Edward Ragsdale, Sr. and Alice Francis Smith Ragsdale.  On November 18, 1977, he married the love of his life, Juanita Gail Harelson.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim worked as a jeweler for over 40 years.  He loved to golf, go fishing and deer hunting.  He had a fascination with UFOs, aliens and ghosts.  Jim had a very “quirky” personality with an even “quirkier” sense of humor.  He enjoyed his family and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife 45 years, Juanita Ragsdale; his son, Justin Ragsdale; his daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Micah Dixon; one grandchild, Berkley; his brother, Billy James Ragsdale; his sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Norman Yearger; nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, May 19, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.  Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, prior to the service.
