James Parchman

James Edward "Sonny" Parchman passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the age of 74 years after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Leslie Parchman and Maisel Baker Farace and beloved husband of Sarah Pitts Parchman for 55 years. He was the father of Helen Christine Parchman Ray (Bernard C.), Gregory James Parchman and Shellie Annette Parchman Rovelo (Fabian); grandfather of Bryce Christian and Connor James Parchman; brother of Lester "Bub" Parchman (Penny), Larry Parchman (Donese) and Jack Parchman (Kathy); brother-in-law of Sue Vidrine, Margaret Pecot, Larry Pitts (Wanda), James Lamar Pitts (Lucy) and the late Debra Pitts Kinney (Roger), Doris Pitts Dillon (Larry "Matt") and Donna Pitts Fontenot (Ferrel). He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sonny was born in Beebe, Arkansas and was a resident of Terrytown, Louisiana for 51 years. He was employed by Bredero Price for 44 years where he retired in 2002. Sonny loved the outdoors, was an avid reader and enjoyed watching his grandsons play ball. He was loved by all and was an inspiration to many. He will be deeply missed.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at McRae First Baptist Church, with burial in Lebanon Cemetery. Arrangements by Westbrook, a Smith Family Funeral Home. www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
