Mr. Herbert Neel age 85 of Arkadelphia died Saturday, November 10, 2007 in Arkadelphia.
He was born March 14, 1922 the son of the late Elbert and Mattie Brown Neel. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Arkadelphia where he had served as Deacon. Herb was retired owner and operator of Neel's Service Station and a WWII veteran having served with the United States Coast Guard. He was also a former member of the Civitan Club.
Survivors include his wife Jessie Kelly Neel, three daughters Jotanna Wright of Benton, Brenda Ann Bell of Hot Springs, and Debbie Grant of Arkadelphia, two brothers. Garl Neel of Hot Springs and Bill Neel of Arkadelphia, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Dr. Lee McGlone officiating with burial in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Trevor Ward, Michael Cullen, Clay Bell, Michael Bell, Kerry Bartholomew, and Michael Harrison.
