James Christopher McConnell, 27, of Little Rock passed away unexpectedly April 17, 2016. He was a lifetime resident of Little Rock, Arkansas. In 2008, he graduated from Catholic High School and attended the University of Central Arkansas.
James was a skilled mechanic. His love for working in this field was an inherited trait passed along to him from his Pawpaw Boykin. He was also skilled in the field of electronics and technology.
James was an active member of The Church at Rock Creek. He and his wife, Stephanie, enjoyed spending many hours volunteering in various programs through the church ministries.
James also had a love for animals, especially for his cats--Princess and Batter.
Some of James' favorite times in life were his vacations to the beautiful beaches in Florida with Stephanie and his parents. They spent many wonderful hours just walking the beach, collecting seashells, and enjoying the peacefulness of the ocean.
James was preceded in death by his grandparents B. J. and Glenna Boykin and F. O. "Don" Sr. and Elizabeth McConnell.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie McConnell and step-children, Felicia Quinn and Michael Quinn; his parents, Kenneth Sr. and Tina McConnell, of Little Rock; brother, Kenny McConnell, Jr. of San Diego, California; aunts and uncles, Don and Kathy McConnell, Ronnie and Carol Ann Jennings, Charles and Sondra Boykin and Larry and Glenna Faye Rowland; his nephews and nieces, Patrick Boykin, Cherie Rickard, Larry Rowland, Jr., Carla Vickers, Ronnie Jennings, Jr., Reck McConnell, and Trevor McConnell and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday evening, April 21 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Graveside services will be Friday, April 22 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander, officiated by Rev. Greg Kirksey.
James will be deeply missed and we will always cherish our memories of him as he lives on in heaven. He will live on in our hearts forever. They that love beyond the world cannot be separated by it. Death cannot kill what never dies.
