James Mashburn

James William Mashburn of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on February 5, 2025. He was born on September 18, 1955, in Taos, New Mexico to Billy and Jane Mashburn.

Throughout his life, James exemplified the spirit of a jack of all trades, showcasing exceptional skills and a remarkable work ethic. His career as a heavy equipment mechanic was complemented by his diverse interests and talents, particularly in auctioneering—a skill he pursued with great enthusiasm. In his personal life, James found tremendous joy in his love for animals, particularly his horses, Champ and Beauty, along with his dog, Daisy, and cat, Tiger. The bond he shared with his pets was undeniable and represented his nurturing spirit.

James also loved his stagecoach and covered wagon trips.

James is preceded in death by his parents: Billy and Jane Mashburn; and his brothers, Calvin, Michael, and Henry Mashburn.

James is survived by his partner of 36 years, Josephine Lincoln; his sister, Geneva Mitchell (Donnie), and brother, Steven Mashburn; his children, Billy Wayne Mashburn (Belinda), Stacey Carter (Matt); grandchildren, Cody Mashburn (Allie), Jesse Mashburn, Stormy Cash (Braden Lewis), and Lainee Cash; great-grandchildren, Blakely Mashburn, Grayson Mashburn, Imari Lewis, and Caroline Lewis, and baby Lewis on the way. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Upchurch Cemetery in Mabelvale.
