James Clinton Luker age 85 of Bismarck began his new journey dancing with the angels June 8, 2010. He was surrounded by his family as he left this earth and began his perfect life in Heaven. He was born on June 2, 1925 in Point Cedar, Arkansas to Charlie and Minnie Bennett Luker. He was predeceased by his parents, his first love of 49 years, Aline Goins Luker, a sister, Lucille Sanders and a step-father Charlie Carpenter. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, lifetime carpenter, a member of Bismarck Pentecostal Church and attended Bismarck First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of ten years, Willa Mae Buck Luker, five sons, Terry and Sandy Luker of Caney, Rodger and Deleyn Luker of Hot Springs, Alan and Diana Buck of Rogers, Kenny and Debbie Buck of Hot Springs, Jeff and Tena Buck of Maumelle, three daughters, Norralene and David Porterfield, Patricia and Billy Keeton, Denise and Dale Weaver all of Bismarck, 28 Grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, four sisters, Hazel, Nadine, Charlene and Georgia.
Funeral services will be 10 AM Thursday in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel in Arkadelphia with Brother Van Glidewell and Brother Jeremy Greer officiating. Burial will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Bismarck. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dewayne Porterfield, Jimmy and Jeremy Luker, Jerry Harmon, Chris Weaver, Josh Daniel and Raymond Pleasants. Honorary pallbearers are James Porterfield, Chris Keeton, Dylan Weaver, Derek and Evan Buck, Coy Tims and Chris Luker.
