James Kindred

James Kindred

James (Jim) Payton Kindred of North Little Rock departed this life on February 17, 2015. He was born in Caledonia, Missouri to the late Genevieve and Lewis B. Kindred.
James was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Gary. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann (Halbert) Kindred, son Michael Warren Henderson (Nena), two grandsons, five great-grandchildren and three cousins with whom he grew up.
James was a United States Air Force Veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a retired engineer with Western Electric where he worked for 36 years. He attended Faith Baptist Church and was a volunteer at Baptist Medical Center for over 25 years.
James kept himself busy in his retirement with his volunteering and restoring antique clocks, some were very old. He had a very giving heart and would do anything he could for anyone he met. Ann said, she had to watch him or he would give away everything they had.
Memorials may be made in James' name to the Building Fund, Faith Baptist Church, 109 Tanglewood Drive, North Little Rock, AR 72118.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock, AR 72114. Dr. Bob Winkle officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service (10:00-11:00).
