James “Jim” William Reasons, 77, of Benton, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2023. He was born August 21, 1945 in Portland, Oregon.
Jim loved the Lord and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He began reading the Bible over fifty-three years ago and it changed his life. He has over seventy-five Bibles and commentaries, is fluent in Greek, and attended seminary. He had a hunger to learn as much as he could about the Lord. Jim was a man of unconditional love. He was an incredible husband, father, and grandfather. Jim was always a call away if anyone needed anything. His family was so special to him. Jim proudly served in the United States Army and was a Green Beret with the 1st and 5th Special Forces in the Vietnam War. Jim was a hard worker and retired from Union Pacific Railroad as a boiler maker. Jim was a man who believed in serving God, Family, and Country. He held true to the values of integrity, honesty, and honor. Jim was his family’s hero, and a hero to our country. He leaves a legacy that will be treasured for always.
Preceding Jim in death are his wife, Charlotte E. Reasons; daughter, Tanya Surles; and parents, William Martin and Bessie Louise (Reilly) Reasons.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his son, Tony Reasons and wife Dorothy of Glen Rose, Arkansas; “daughter”, Belinda Kay Boshears and husband Pete of Bauxite, Arkansas; grandchildren: Austin Kitchens and wife Tyneshia, Kalyn Stearns and husband Cody, Dusty Reasons, and Charley Reasons; great-grandchildren: Remington and Tyson Kitchens, and Sadie Stearns; furry companions, Jasmine and Sassy; and many family members and friends who love Jim and will miss him always.
