James “Jim” Arthur, 59, of Austin, Arkansas, lost his battle with cancer at home on the morning of April 25, 2024. Jim was born in Couvron-et-Aumencourt, France, on June 6, 1964, to Nathan and Charlene Arthur. Jim was the youngest of five children - Debbie, Brian, Robert, Mary-Jo, and Jim - and was raised in a military family who lived in France, North Carolina, North Dakota, Florida, and settled in Austin, Arkansas, in 1974.
Jim and Denita, his loving wife of 42 years, met in 1981 and married in 1982. Together they raised their daughters Brandy (Lyman) and Jessica (Pacheco). Jim was a second-generation business owner and expert salesman for 28 years. Later in life, he became Pop to five beautiful grandchildren: Jackson, Ethan, Beau, Olivia, and Vivian.
Throughout his life Jim enjoyed movies, music, and cooking. He loved to share movie quotes and to chef up delicious meals for his family and friends. Jim was the ultimate outdoorsman and his greatest passions were duck hunting, deer hunting, and fishing for anything living in the water. He loved to share his knowledge of hunting and fishing with his grandkids, friends, and anyone standing around the boat ramp. Jim made many friends while wading through the river and sitting in the duck blind. He was always ready to tell a (fish) story or three to anyone willing to listen.
