James Hornibrook

James Reaves Hornibrook, 73, of Little Rock, passed away April 17, 2012. He was born in Little Rock to James Edward and Frances Reaves Hornibrook. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and the Board of Trustees of Subiaco Academy, and formerly the head of the Southland Conference of Officials. He played baseball at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, played and pitched for the Little Rock Dough Boys, and signed with the Detroit Tigers. After baseball, he began his career in investment banking and retired from Stephens, Inc. James was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf.
He is survived by his wife, Dana Hornibrook; sons, James Edward Hornibrook II of Fayetteville and Michael Hart Hornibrook of Little Rock; daughters, Lisa Hornibrook Miller and husband, David of San Antonio, Texas and Reaves Witt Hornibrook of Fayetteville; brother, Peter H. Hornibrook and wife, Judy; sister, Haven Waters and husband, Bill; and grandchildren, Haven Hornibrook Bogy and husband, Phil, Houston Hornibrook, Jake Hornibrook, Anne Hornibrook, Rachel Miller, Claire Hornibrook and Reaves Miller; and a host of other family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Msgr. John F. O'Donnell on Friday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church, 1003 N. Tyler Street. Visitation will be Thursday evening, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the church, followed by the Rosary at 7:00.
