James Holmes

Reverend James Frederick (Freddie) Holmes, born April 24, 1935, passed away October 24, 2018. He was a Baptist minister and pastor for 65 years. He served his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ faithfully, and thanked God every day for blessing him with his loving family.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bette; two sons, Brad and his wife Cindy; Byron and his wife Terri; four grandchildren, Brindy Cathey and her husband Jason; Bracy Jennings and her husband Kenneth; Kyle Holmes and his wife Morgan; and Daniel Holmes and his wife Ashlee-Paige; seven greatgrandchildren, Greer and Anderson Jennings; Summer, Gage, Ainsley, and Beckett Cathey; three day old Charlotte Alyssa Holmes; and soon to join the family in March, another great-granddaughter; one sister, Mattie Holmes Foster and her husband Joe; one brother Gayle Holmes and his wife Annetta; one sister-in-law, Betty Rose Holmes; a special cousin Debbie Carreiro; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Hazel Holmes; brother, Donald Holmes; nephew, Eric Holmes; and special aunt, Lynn Holmes Martin.
A musical memorial celebration will be held at 2:00, Tuesday, October 30, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 501 North Shackleford Road, Little Rock, AR. The family will greet guests following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice in his honor.
