James "Bud" Harmon

James Howard (Bud) Harmon, age 65, died April 29, 2024. He was born September 12, 1958 in Chowchilla, California to Hermon and Ivie Lucille Waddles Harmon.

He worked for KNB, for the best owners, managers and employee ever. He was a member of Apostolic Church of England.

He is preceded in death by wife, Cathy Roofe Harmon; baby girl, Johnnie Mae; parents, Hermon and Lucille Harmon and sister, Linda Harmon.

He is survived by sisters, Mary Ann (Bobby) Dycus of North Little Rock and Pam (Buster) Gavin of Scott; brother, Michael (favorite sister-in-law Lisa) Harmon of North Little Rock; nieces and nephews, Bridget Gammill (Caleb), Brandon “Suck Baby” Gavin (Lindsey), Blake Chapman (Robin), Amanda “Loser” Harmon, Nathan "Peddling Pastor of KC" Dycus (Misty), Brandi “Butthead” Harmon; great-nieces and nephews, Josiah (Skyler) and Atalie Dycus, Lillian, Lucille and Lawson Gammill; grandkids, Blaine and Gage Roofe, Livee and Zoe Rice, Charlotte Blascoe, Skylar Roofe; great- great niece, Hallie Dycus; great- great nephew, Odin Chapman; brother-in-Laws, Scott Roofe (Tom Flannigan) and Tracey Lee Roofe (Mary); and my wonderful second family from Piggott, Arkansas, Howard and Maxine Young, Alden and Glenda James, Tommy and Sharon Wicker. Thank you all for making me feel so welcome. “You can stick a fork in me, I am done!”

The family wishes to thank Arkansas Hospice for their care during James’ illness; especially, Nurse Dawn for being so caring and the special care she had for him. He thought the world of you!


As we prepare to bid farewell to Bud during the upcoming services, let us take solace in the knowledge that he has left behind a profound impact on all who knew him. The visitation will be held at the Smith Family Funeral Home in North Little Rock on May 2, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at the Mayflower United Pentecostal Church in Mayflower on May 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Bud will then be laid to rest at the Mayflower Cemetery following the service.
