James Hammons

James Dennis Hammons “Daddy-O”, 82, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away April 24, 2020. He was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas on June 17, 1937 to Sterling and Violet Hammons. He loved fishing, bowling, dancing and most of all spending time camping with his family. He was a member of the Eagle’s Club.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Ann Hammons; brother, Sterling Scott Hammons; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; and special friend and companion, Gayola James.

Dennis is survived by daughters, Denise Hammons Stewart, Teresa Hammons Stuart, Tanya Hammons Crews, and Robin Suzanne Hammons; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; sister, Joan Jolly; and loving friend, Racheal Hammons.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. There will be a private burial at Sumner Cemetery.

THE MEMORIAL SERVICE SCHEDULED FOR 6:30 PM, AUGUST 27, 2020 AT SMITH-NORTH LITTLE ROCK FUNERAL HOME HAS BEEN POSTPONED.
