James Hays

James H. Hays (84) of North Little Rock passed away December 18, 2021. He was born in Little Rock to Harvey Hays and Bertie Glover Hays. He graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1955 and graduated from Little Rock University (UALR) in 1960. He coached youth sports. James owned and operated Hays Oil Company in Little Rock, North Little Rock, and Conway. He loved hunting and fishing and dogs, especially bird dogs.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bill.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Betty S. Hays; children Richard Hays (Susie), Sue Schlag (J.R.); grandchildren Derek Hays (Elizabeth), Chad Hays, James Schlag, Jacob Schlag; and many nieces and nephews; and his dog Rocky Hays.

The family would like to thank the Kindred Hospice nurses Denise, Ashton, and Alex.
