James Walter Fitzhugh, 83, of Bigelow passed away Thursday October 22, 2009. He was a World War II Navy veteran and served on the USS Black Hawk, and was a longstanding member of Harmony Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Fitzhugh, of Bigelow; his children, two daughters, Judy Mae Reeser (Jim), of Lyndon, Kansas and Melissa Fitzhugh-Rempe (Willie),of Mayflower; two sons, James O. Fitzhugh (Barbara), of Bigelow and Adam S. Fitzhugh (Mary Ann), of Bath, Michigan; Margie's children, two sons, Roy Moody (Sherla), of Lamar and Davy Moody (Joyce) of Beebe; eighteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Fitzhugh (Barbara) of Cabot and Bert Fitzhugh (Gloria) of Sherwood; two sisters, Dorothy Davidson (Bill), of Scott and Lea Robertson (Michael), of Ft. Smith; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Obert and Edna Fitzhugh; first wife, Ella Mae (Bryant) Fitzhugh; son, Thomas Wayne Fitzhugh, Sr. and sister, Virginia Rose.
He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Martindale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., Sunday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
