James Farrell Tipton, age 80, of Hot Springs, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023.
He was born on December 3, 1942, in Coy, Arkansas, Lonoke County, the son of Coy James Tipton and Thelma Inez Romine Tipton. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Terry Dwight Tipton.
James was an incredibly proud United States Navy Veteran, who served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam War. After serving his country, James worked for the railroad for 28 years until retirement. He loved hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. James was a member of the Hot Springs VFW and active with the Honor Guard Service. He always put his family first and enjoyed any fellowship with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra Ann (Davis) Tipton; two sons, Reese Tipton and Brandon Kellar Tipton; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his honorary son, Britt Christopher Garrett; his brother, John Harold Tipton; his sister, Janet Suzanne Garrett; extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Funeral service will be 2:00PM, Thursday, May 4, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.
Interment will be 10:00AM, Friday, May 5, 2023, in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6:00PM-8:00PM, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
