James Mitchell

James Edgar Mitchell, 90, of Little Rock, passed away November 11, 2018. Born in Ripley, Tennessee, he was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea, a welder with International Harvester, 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of Unity Tabernacle Christian Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Mitchell; sons, James L. Mitchell (Christine) of Iowa, David Mitchell of Texas, Michael Branch (Callandra) of North Carolina and Gregory L. Williams (Natalie) of Little Rock; daughters, Elaine Sonya Byrd (Daniel) of Indiana, Priscilla Ann Hollis (Eugene) and Winnie Mae Hunter, both of Texas, Gloria Jeane Mitchell of Iowa, Kathryn Y. Eide (Hector) of Georgia, Natalie Trumbo and Valerie E. Glover (Michael), both of Arkansas, and Brandie Williams of South Carolina; and a sister, Eva Mae Humphrey of Indiana. Also surviving are twenty-seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, John Charles and five sisters.

Services will be held on Tuesday, November 20 at 11:00 a.m., preceded by visitation beginning at 10:00 at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), followed by interment at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
