James D. Klutts, age 47, of Pencil Bluff, died Thursday, July 12, 2012. He was born on June 25, 1965 in Stuttgart, Germany, the son of Byron L. Klutts and Elizabeth Whitham Klutts. He was preceded in death by his son, Zack Klutts. A United States Army veteran, he was a certified gunsmith. He was a member of the Pencil Bluff Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Klutts of Pencil Bluff; his son and daughter-in-law, Luke and Lacy Klutts of Eglin Air Force Base, Florida; his parents, Byron L. and Elizabeth Klutts of Oden; his brother and sister-in-law, Preston and Barbara Klutts of Mena; his maternal grandmother, Joyce Witham of Kansas City, Missouri; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Grace Ballentine of Pencil Bluff; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Liz Ballentine of Pencil Bluff; two nephews, Eston Klutts and Coley Ballentine; two nieces, Markie Blocker and Jessie Starr; his great-nephew, Lane Starr; two uncles, Sam Powell of Mena and Roger Whitham and his wife, Loretta, of Kansas City, Missouri; and many other family members. Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 15, 2012 in the Pencil Bluff Baptist Church with Bro. David Birdsong, Bro. Rusty Lewis and Bro. David Rouse officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, 2:00 PM until service time, at the church. Interment will be in the Pencil Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Stan Miller, Mike Hobson, Bill Hiaumet, Charles Ballentine, Kelly Singleton and Gene Monk. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorsproject.org.
