James Crowder,

James B. Crowder, Jr., 63, of Ward, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord August 18, 2011. He was a Navy Veteran of twenty-two years and served in Vietnam. After his retirement from the Navy, he started his second career with the U.S. Postal Service. He served as Pastor at Perry Street Baptist Church in Little Rock.
James is survived by his wife, Vonda Crowder; his mother, Geraldine Crowder; four children, Veronica Mitchell and her son Blake; Angela Jarry (John) and their children Morgan and Grant; James B. Crowder, III and his children James Landyn, Marilyn Raycie and Kennedy; daughter Lori Hicks (Anthony) and their children Quinn, Shad, Karsyn and Alexis; two great-grandchildren, Khloe and Ashton; three brothers, Joel Alfred (Susan), Jon Barry and Jarrell Bevin; three sisters, Loretta Dianne Cunningham (Don), Marsha Marlane Sobczak (James) and Tara Lorraine Efird (Mack). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James B. Crowder, Sr.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Khalil and Dr. Geoghagan and their staff.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
