James Leroy Buck

James Leroy Buck, age 80, of Bonnerdale, went to be with his Lord and Savior while surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

He was born on September 3, 1943, in Bonnerdale, the son of Louis Lessel Buck and Audrey Ethel Deaton. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy Buck; his son, James Louis Buck; his granddaughter, Ashton Buck; and his siblings, Louis Buck, Dewayne Buck, and Glenna White.

Leroy married the love of his life, Judy, on July 13, 1981. Together they built a beautiful life to cherish. He was a member of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church for many years. He spent his career as a wet stone cutter but loved to hunt, fish, watch football and Survivor. In Leroy's last deer season, he killed an 8-point buck that he was so proud of. Most of all he loved spending time with and spoiling his grandchildren. Leroy was a wonderful husband, father, and papa and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his three children, Kevin and Dana Kelley of Little Rock, Cristy and Tony Whipkey of Bonnerdale, and Misty and Austin Wilson of Amity; his eight grandchildren, Zack, Mikey, Haley, Colby, Makayla, Kara, Madi, and Lexie; his three great-grandchildren, Alaiah, Caroline, and Margot; his sister, Wanda Duboise of Bonnerdale; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dale Hamilton officiating.
