James "Arnold" Bright

James “Arnold” Bright, age 97, of Bonnerdale, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022.

 

He was born on December 27, 1924, in Bonnerdale, the son of John Wiley Bright and Flora Dillard Bright.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Bright; his wife, the mother of his children, Ruby Bright; his brother, Orville; and three sisters, Alma, Dora and Retha.

 

Arnold was a United States Navy veteran, having served in World War II.  He enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved hunting and fishing.  Above all, Arnold loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. 

 

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Bobbie Bright of Bonnerdale; his daughter and son-in-law, Lareca and Dennis Dixon of Pearcy; his six grandchildren and their spouses, John and Lawanda Bright, Jason and Ustane Bright, James and April Bright, Josh Bright, Jennifer and Keith McCain and Sam and Chasity Dixon; fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

 

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 10, 2022, in the Dillard Homestead Cemetery with Bro. Keith Shewbart officiating.

 

Visitation will be held Saturday, 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the services at the cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, John Bright, Jason Bright, James Bright, Josh Bright, Sam Dixon and Jennifer McCain.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of “Arnold” to the Dillard Homestead Cemetery, c/o Myron Massey, 361 Sugar Loaf Valley Road, Bonnerdale, AR 71933.
