James "Smilin' Jim" David Blackwell, 63, passed away July 4, 2013. Born in Memphis, Tennessee to Samuel David and Elizabeth Edwards Blackwell, he was of the Baptist faith. James made the Dean's List at Little Rock University, played Christ in the Passion Play at Eureka Springs, and was voted Most Handsome in school. He was a member of Kappa Sigma. James enjoyed playing his guitar.
He is survived by three sisters, Pam Anderson of Little Rock, Sandra Williams of Perryville and Debra J. Blackwell of Bigelow.
Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, July 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, officiated by Mr. Perry Hill. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the National Association for the Mentally Ill (NAMI), 1012 Autumn Rd., Ste. #1, Little Rock, AR 72211.
