World War II and Korean War veteran, James Otha Biggers (J.O.) of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on November 3, 2015. J.O. was born November 2, 1925 to the late Ernest and Mabel Biggers; he was 90 years old. As a Navy radioman, Chief Biggers proudly served and fought throughout the Pacific during World War II. He retired from Southwestern Bell where he was known for his work ethic and perseverance.
His highest priorities were always in serving the Lord, his family, and those in need. J.O was a willing mentor and friend to many and served in a variety of leadership callings as a member of West 65th Street Church of Christ.
J.O. is survived by his wife, Fayetta; his children, Dawn Tickell of Benton, Arkansas, Bill Harrel of Little Rock and Lindsey Knapp of Vancouver, Washington; his seven grandchildren and his 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jayanne Prater; his parents, Ernest and Mabel Biggers; his brother, Ernest Jr.; and his sister, Ruth Douglass.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 5 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). The graveside service will be Friday, November 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, officiated by Preacher Don McClain.
