James Clyde Bardwell, age 82, of Amity, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.
He was born on August 12, 1939, in Hot Springs, the son of Clyde Pierce Bardwell and Sophrona Adeline Campbell Bardwell. On September 22, 1967, he was married to the true love of his life, Judy Mae Williams Bardwell. He was preceded in death by his parents.
For several years he owned and operated Bardwell Wrecker Service and his salvage yard. He enjoyed working with his cows, riding motorcycles, was a collector of old things from the past and could pretty much tell you exactly what everything was and served as the local historian. James loved to go to the coffee shop and will forever be remembered for all his stories he shared with all his buddies at the famous roundtable.
Above all, James was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, who loved and adored his family. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.,
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Bardwell of Amity; his son and daughter-in-law, Marty James and Angelia Bardwell of Amity; his daughter and son-in-law, Tisha Maurine and Brad Long of Bryant; his grandchildren, Ashton Long, Dylan Long, Jacob Dove, Kaleb Dove and Kristin Dove; his sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Sonny Prince of Glenwood; his faithful sidekick, Drop; and numerous extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 9, 2022, in the Jones Cemetery with Bro. John McAnally officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Lyons, Bruce Doster, Maurice Hancock, Trudy Humphries, Terina Cook, Beverly Whisenhunt and Gary Buck.
Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.
