James “Jim” Barboza joined his Creator on February 15, 2025 in Hot Springs, Arkansas at the age of 42. He is the youngest son of the late Josel Barboza and Corazon Barboza (nee Jose).
Jim lived a life of humility and steadfast faith in God. He is a good son and brother, a hardworking man, an affectionate husband and a dutiful father. He is well-adored by his family, friends, and colleagues for his kindness, congeniality and natural sense of humor. Jim is always willing to offer a helping hand to those in need.
Illness did not stop Jim in pursuing his interests and serving the family that he dearly loves. He continued his career as a network specialist and followed his passion. He played musical instruments (guitar and drums) and basketball with his friends while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Aside from his innate skill in comedy, Jim has a knack for using his creativity in romanticizing special events. He proposed to his wife, Krisna at the summit of Mt. Pulag. Much to the surprise of their guests, he serenaded his wife at their wedding reception.
Jim attended Manila Central University from elementary until high school. He is an alumnus of The Lyceum University of the Philippines.
He was survived by his beloved wife, Krisna Barboza (nee Calilung) and his children, Zara Ysabelle and Daniel Job, his brothers and sisters, Joselito Barboza of Malabon, Metro Manila, Evan and Jasmin David of Calumet, Michigan, Eli and Jane Liwanag of Manchester, Maryland and his nephews and niece, Byron and Wyndham David, Brendan and Joselle Liwanag.
Visitation hours will be held on February 18, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 in the afternoon at Smith Family Funeral Home, 2205 Airport Rd, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71913.
