Jacky R. Wharton, 77, of Little Rock, died October 30, 2010. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas to C.C. Wharton and Alice (Clay) Wharton, he retired from the United States Army after 22 years of service, serving two tours in Vietnam. Before joining the Army, he was a roughneck in the oil fields in Texas.
Survivors are his wife, Kim Wharton of Little Rock; two daughters, Lynn Long of Bryant and Kim Ison of Greenbrier; son, Greg Wharton of Little Rock; nine grandchildren, Alison, Amy, Chris, Nick, Clint, Jack, Caitlin, J.J. and Gracie and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his son, John Wharton.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in the Chapel of Little Rock Funeral Home with Reverend William Clay officiating. Visitation will be from 6 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Pleasant Hills Cemetery in Saline County.
