Jackie Waggoner

May 31, 1943 — March 16, 2014

Jackie Waggoner, age 70, of Norman, died Sunday, March 16, 2014. He was born on May 31, 1943, at Norman, the son of Claud Oscar Waggoner and Bessie Mae Lewis Waggoner. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Sis Waggoner, his brother, Gene Waggoner and his sister-in-law, Ruth Waggoner. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, enjoyed reading, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and everyone who knew Jackie will always remember how much he enjoyed sitting down at Ligon Oil visiting with everyone. He dearly loved his family, but there was never a doubt that the greatest love in his life was his precious daughter, Tammy, whom he cherished with all his heart. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory and love will carry on in each of their hearts forever. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Joel Young of Norman; his two grandsons, Tyler Young and Rayce Young, both of Norman; one brother, Bob Brandon of Norman; two sisters, Freda Hull of Fort Smith and Paula Mullins of Hope; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of wonderful friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 20, 2014, in the Black Springs Cemetery with Bro. Glenn Wehunt officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Jim Lewis, David Lybrand, Charlie Hunt, Justin Waggoner, Henry Killian and Leon Helms.
