Jack Woolfolk died on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 finally released from the dementia that had altered his life for two years. He was born in Senatobia, Mississippi on December 22, 1938 to Thomas and Martha Ann Woolfolk. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and began his career in the Little Rock District Corps of Engineers where he retired as Chief of the Engineering Division. Shortly after his retirement, he was recruited by Carter Burgess (now Jacobs) for part-time project management where he worked for an additional ten years.
Jack was predeceased by his parents, daughter Elizabeth Anne, five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sarah; daughter Johanna McCormick; grandsons Cole (Brennan) and Carson McCormick, and James Woolfolk; son-in-law Wayne Woolfolk, sister-in-law Jane Thompson of Justin, Texas and sister Shirley Gaines of Senatobia, Mississippi and numerous nieces and nephews.
When Jack was healthy he enjoyed playing golf, exercising and group- chatting at the gym, drawing, picking peaches and apples in the summertime and being with his grandsons. He was a warm, funny but yet serious man. He kept a pocket sized copy of the U. S. Constitution on his chair side table and referred to it often. He was a man of faith, a fifty-three year member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a devoted husband and just an all-around good guy. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Trinity UMC, preceded by visitation at 1:00 PM.
If you are so inclined, memorial gifts can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1101 North Mississippi, Little Rock, AR 72207 or to a charity of your choice.
