J D Burk

J D Burk, age 92, of Glenwood, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018. He was born on October 27, 1926 in Langley, the son of John Cannon Burk and Arco White Burk Breedlove. On April 26, 1947, he was married to Viola Modean Spears Burk who preceded him in death on July 8, 2000. He was a retired logger, a Christian in his faith and a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by two children and their spouses, Danny and Ruby Burk and Glenda and Kenneth Harding, all of Glenwood; four grandchildren and their spouses, Brandie and Don Benton, Ryan Nutt, Christy and Mark Seitzer and Dana and Shawn Cogburn; ten great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn Cross of Delight and Mabel Kirkpatrick of Mountain Home; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, November 27, 2018, in the Coker Cemetery at Rosboro. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
