Iverna "Chirpy" Wright

Iverna “Chirpy” Wright, age 90, of Black Springs, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 15, 2022.

Chirpy was born on January 10, 1932, in Meyer Creek to Obed Weston and Ina Mae Wright Weston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Jonathan Wright; her parents; her two daughters, April Wright and Barbara Henderson; her daughter-in-law, Susan Wright; her brother, Dean Weston; and her sister, Merle Thornton.

She was a faithful member of Black Springs Baptist Church. She married the love of her life, Marvin Wright, on November 15, 1949. She was a homemaker, taking loving care of her children and anyone else that walked through her door. Chirpy was a wonderful Christian, her servant heart an inspiration to all. She loved to paint, to garden, and tending to her chickens. She loved to spoil her grandchildren. She loved to travel, some of her trips including Alaska and the Philippines. Chirpy will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Wade and Diana Wright of Black Springs, Dow Wright of Prescott, and Dane and Myrna Wright of Glenwood; her daughter and her husband, Glenda and Philip Formby; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 19, 2022, at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Taylor Bruce officiating.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 19, 2022, 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to services at Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Interment will be in the Grants Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be Brady Wright, Jonathan Formby, Kevin Wright, Clayton Swanger, Charles Swanger, and John Pomraning.

Honorary pallbearer will be Mark Wright.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, 209 North 3rd Street, Glenwood.
