Iris Hope "Totsie" Newton, age 87, died February 26, 2008 at Twin Rivers Nursing Home in Arkadelphia. She was born September 4, 1920 in Provo,
AR, the daughter of William Nathan and Sophie Beutelschies Walters. She was a graduate of Dierks High School and Henderson State University. She retired from the Pine Bluff public school system after many years of faithful service. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Pine Bluff.
Survivors are, Brown Newton, husband, of Arkadelphia, Tom Newton, son, and wife Rebecca, of Longview, TX; Karen Newton, daughter, of Little Rock AR; three grandchildren, Katy and Tommy Newton of Dallas, TX, and Andy Newton of Longview, TX.; Sisters, Clarice Evans, of Mineola, TX. Mary Wheeler, of Hot Springs, AR; Elaine Hall of Boca Raton, Fl.
Visitation Will Be From 6 - 8 Friday February 29, at the Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Graveside Service will be 11:00a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 in the Newton Chapel Cemetery, Star City, AR.
