Irene Terrebonne

Irene Terrebonne

Irene Standley Terrebonne - She was so tiny, and that's what surprised most people - the enormity of her iron will (read: stubbornness) mixed with a startling sweetness that would make anyone give her the moon (in the end, the "moon" turned out to be diet soda, chocolate pudding and seafood, not necessarily together). And so Irene Standley Terrebonne, of North Little Rock is remembered. She passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013.

Reenie was born on February 16, 1949 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Helen and Edward Standley. She graduated from Salem College and became a high school teacher, eventually teaching at Mount St. Mary in Little Rock. Nothing gave Reenie more joy than teaching. She would commend doctors, bank tellers - anybody who worked hard. But secretly, she thought teaching was the best and it showed.

Reenie has finally been made whole by our Lord's loving hand, and is reunited with her ecstatic husband, Lenny, who has been waiting for Reenie for 20 years.

Her daughter, Amanda Terrebonne, will make sure to carry on the love of german shepards, gold jewelry and a good hoagie (a sub sandwich to us Southerners).

She is predeceased by 1 sibling, Vince, and survived by her siblings Bill and Geri, as well as her nieces and nephews. A Funeral mass will be on Tuesday, October 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 7000 JFK Blvd, North Little Rock. Burial will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.

A special thank you to Bill and Marilyn Standley family for their care and support of Reenie in the last month of her life.
