Ira Irvin Curtis, 71, of Sheridan, AR passed away June 14, 2015. He was born on July 29, 1943 in Paron, AR to the late Frank Edison and Murl E. Duvall-Curtis.
Ira was a heavy equipment operator. He worked for McGeorge Construction for 58 years. He loved his family and was very kind-hearted, helping anyone in need. Ira enjoyed gardening and working on his truck. Some of his favorite times were spent hunting and fishing with family.
Ira was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Becky Mae Curtis; son, Ira Irvin "Tut", Jr.; and brother, Ed "Machin" Curtis, Jr.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Brenda Curtis of Sheridan, AR; sons, Wayne Curtis of Sheridan, AR and Kevin Curtis and wife Amanda of Saline County, AR; daughter, Stephanie Curtis of Sheridan, AR; four grandchildren, Erica Rankin and husband Derek, Dallas Curtis, Haley Curtis, Bailey Curtis; great granddaughter, Sophia Curtis; two sisters, Frankie Anderson and husband Jackie and Carolyn Gunter; as well as many other family members and friends who loved Ira and will miss him always.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2015, 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Smith - Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, AR 72015. Funeral service, officiated by Bro. John Bagby, will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2015, 10:00 A.M. at Smith - Benton Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Bolin Cemetery with Steve Gunter, Dallas Curtis, Derek Rankin, Bailey Curtis, Josh Hutchinson, and Kevin Darter serving as pall bearers.
