Ina Marie Stovall Plyler, age 91, of Glenwood, formerly of Sims, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 1, 2022.
She was born on February 21, 1931, in Sims, the daughter of Jeff Stovall and Epsie Beggs Stovall. On July 4, 1947, she was married to the true love of her life, Doc Plyler, who preceded her in death on March 9, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Vicki Plyler; her grandson, Anthony Plyler; her parents; her brothers, Boone Stovall, Carril Stovall, Helton Stovall, Weldon "Punk" Stovall and Edward Stovall.
She was a member of the Lone Valley Church of God, and after moving to Glenwood she attended Glenwood Freewill Baptist Church and later Faith Tabernacle in Mount Ida. In her earlier years, she worked for both the Glove Factory and Shoe Factory, both in Mount Ida, and in 1975, she left the public working world to fulfill her greatest role as a fulltime homemaker. Ina Marie had a passion for shopping, and she always enjoyed going to the beauty shop. After suffering a heart attack three years ago, Ida Marie moved to the Glenwood Nursing Home, where she made it her home, and was given wonderful care by the nurses and staff.
Ina Marie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, who loved her family with all her heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Velma Plyler of Glenwood; her grandson, Randy Plyler and his wife, Sheila, of Weatherford, Texas; her granddaughter, Misty Plyler of Lockhart, Texas; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 5, 2022, in the Rocky Cemetery in Sims with Bro. Don Vaughn and Bro. Jerry Fagan officiating.
Pallbearers will be David James, Jerry Summitt, Jeff Leonard, Vincent Plyler, Hannah Stovall and Randy Plyler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Angie York, hospice nurse; Brook Bartel; her special niece, Hannah Stovall; and the rest of the nurses and staff of the Glenwood Nursing Home, for all the excellent and loving care they gave our beloved Ina Marie for the past three years.
Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, 209 North 3rd Street, Glenwood, AR 71943.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Ina Marie to the Rocky Cemetery Fund, Debby Hunt, P.O. Box 49, Sims, AR 71969.
