Imogene Whisenhunt Mack, age 92, of Athens, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021.
She was born on August 13, 1928, in Amity, the daughter of Alex Whisenhunt and Nellie Lawless Whisenhunt. On June 8, 1946, she was married to Loy Dean “Muscles” Mack who preceded her in death on July 2, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Laura Musick, and her great-grandson, Gage Mack.
She worked in the lunchroom of DeQueen Public Schools for seven years and was a member of the Mount Joy Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and canning.
She is survived by six children and their spouses, Phyllis Lacefield of Athens, Brenda White of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Sharron and Jimmy Robertson of Glenwood, Kevin and Trish Mack of Kirby, Penney and Scotty Westbrook of Athens and Hope and Sid Howard of Owensville; seventeen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Joyce Parker of Alma; and her nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 27, 2021, in the Mount Joy Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Raymond Dees and Chaplain Rufus Robinson officiating.
Interment will be in the Mount Joy Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Pallbearers will be Trevor White, Tracy White, Joseph Musick, Roger “Bimbo” Flemens, Larry Mack and Tim Gentry.
