Imogene Turner

Imogene Turner, age 79, of Kirby, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015. She was born on June 8, 1935, in Kirby, the daughter of Arvil Golden and Winnie Babbitt Golden. On July 5, 1952, she was married to Walter Turner. She was preceded in death by her parents. She was a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She loved to work on her farm, support the Kirby Trojans and watch her children and grandchildren in all school and church activities. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Walter Turner of Kirby; one son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Gwen Turner of Kirby; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Ronnie Whisenhunt of Kirby; five grandchildren, Jeremy Turner, Valeri Parson, Lucas Whisenhunt, Lance Whisenhunt and Lee Whisenhunt; four great-grandchildren, Carter, Kenyon and Grace Turner and Liam Parson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, her twin, Bobby and Maurice Golden and Billy and Sandra Golden, all of Kirby; one sister, Erma Crump of Kirby; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 19, 2015, in the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Golden officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Bear Creek Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Mike Golden, Randy Golden, Keith Golden, Kyle Golden, Steve Crump, Clay Crump, Kevin Golden and Pete Pedron. Honorary pallbearers will be Pike County Hospice, Arkansas Hospice, and two special caregivers, Jo Ann Martin and Jamie Pipkins.
