Ima Jewell White

Ima Jewell White, age 67, of Amity, died Saturday, March 17, 2012. She was born on March 31, 1944 at Rosboro, the daughter of Joseph Cantrell and Fronie Henthorn Cantrell. On June 2, 1960, she was married to Lorie "Doc" White who preceded her in death on April 28, 1997. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Cantrell and Delous Cantrell; and two sisters, Willie Jean Garner and Dora Gann. A Christian in her faith, she loved playing the piano, singing and growing her flowers. She is survived by her son, Billy Don White of Amity; her sister, Ella Faye Cogburn of Kirby; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 23, 2012 in the Coker Cemetery with Bro. David Walker and Bro. John McAnally officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Honorary pallbearers will be the Pike County Sheriff's Department. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
