Ida Marie Pettit

Ida Marie Pettit of Maumelle passed from this life on April 20, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was 89. Ida was born September 15, 1933 in Bitmer, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Mary Ann Lowther Volpe. She was an amazing cook and her love of cooking grew into her owning her own bakery. She was a member of First Christian Church. She had a beautiful voice and loved singing especially to her children and praising God, and now she’s singing in his heavenly choir. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Archie “Arch” Pettit and three sisters.

Survivors include her children, Pam Pettit of Maumelle, David (Phylis) Pettit of Sherwood, Jeff (Jackie) Pettit of Conway, Tim Pettit of Maumelle, Jay (Margie) Pettit of Little Rock, Robin (James) Simmons of North Little Rock; her sister, Eileen Panzarella of Ohio; grandchildren, Jeremy Pettit of Ohio, Steven Pettit of California, Adam (Melissa) Pettit of Maumelle, Eden (Andy) Bull of Conway, Evan (Jessica) Pettit of Heber Springs, Sarah (James) Bryant of Conway, Miranda Pettit of Little Rock, James Simmons, Michael Simmons and Marcus Simmons all of North Little Rock. Other survivors include great-grandchildren, Carson, Noah, Westin, Charleigh, Rowan, Jayden, Dennis, and Dayton; along with a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:30 am, Tuesday, April 25 at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Arkansas, 201 Markham Center Dr., Little Rock, AR 72205.
