Ida Joy Jones, 86, of Little Rock was born February 27, 1934 in Rossin, AR to Walter Kiah and Amanda Gammill Butler. She entered the presence of Jesus on March 7, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Kiah and Amanda Pauline Butler, her husband, Robert E. (Bob) Jones; sisters: Martha Kimmerly, Cleamer Williams, Jean Swanson and her infant sister, Amanda Butler.
She is survived by one aunt, Ila Maud Peevehouse of Malvern, AR, one sister, Jenny Rodriguez of Garland, TX, children: Dennis Francis of Lititz, PA, Rhonda Tollett (William) of Little Rock, AR, four grandchildren: Rachel Tollett of Evanston, IL, William A. "Drew" (Amanda) of Harrison, AR, Abby Francis of Lititz, PA and Allie Francis of Lititz, PA and 2 great grandchildren: Bailey Mann and Isaac Tollett of Harrison, AR along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Joy worked in the banking industry for 43 years and retired in April, 2017 from Simmons Bank as Assistant Vice President. She loved her customers and always greeted them with a warm smile and extended customer service.
She was an active member of St. James United Methodist Church where she held wonderful memories and friends.
Recently, Joy stated she hoped she would be remembered with these thoughts: "She loved her Lord, she loved her family and she loved her friends."
In lieu of flowers, Joy requested memorials be made to Camp Aldersgate and Methodist Family Health (formerly Methodist Children's Home).
Arrangements are under the care of Little Rock Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be Thursday, March 12, 2020 @2:00 PM at St. James United Methodist Church with a family visitation prior to the service at 1:00 PM. Entombment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander, AR.
