Hunter Gilbert Woody

Hunter Gilbert Woody left this world a better place on Memorial Day. He was born August 19, 1943, in Harrisonburg, Virginia of his parents Henry and Rhoda Woody. The love of his life was his daughter, Suzanne. He proudly served in the Air Force at Jacksonville, Arkansas, and soon was playing on the Air Force baseball team. He left the military and became a court reporter traveling all over the state with Workman’s Compensation Commission Judge Newbern Chambers. He retired from the USPS after 28 years of service. Everyone that was fortunate enough to know him as a friend found him an unselfish, faithful, and compassionate human being, who would immediately come to the rescue when needed. You would be hard-pressed to find anyone who came across his path that did not benefit from knowing him. He played and/or coached softball leagues well into his 40s. There is not a sport known that he didn’t love (except for hockey). His dream job was working as an usher for the Arkansas Travelers in 2019 and 2021. His fun job was playing one of Santa’s elves at Bass Pro Shop. He had a dry sense of humor and could be quite entertaining and quick-witted. God put him here for a reason because his goodness touched so many, and they were better people because they came across his path.
