Hubert Merrill

Hubert M. Merrill, 77, of Jacksonville gained his wings on Sunday, January 31, 2021.   Hubert was born October 28, 1943 in St Louis, Missouri to Jack and Ruth Merrill.  Hubert grew up and spent most of his life in Jacksonville and Cabot.

Hubert was an avid collector of trains and enjoyed sharing his passion for trains with all who knew him.  He could often be found chasing special trains and attending nearby train shows.

Hubert was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Ruth Merrill, brother Col. Roland S Merrill and daughter-in-law Christine Merrill.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Mae Merrill, son Scott Merrill and fiancé Crystal,  brother-in-law Elmer (Cheril) Trumpfheller, sister-in-law Wanda (Junior) Ward, nieces Amber Trumpfheller, Wynter (Thomas) Stark, Amanda Trumpfheller, and Holly Webb, Elizabeth Merrill; nephews Jack (Sheil) and Matt Merrill, several great nieces and great nephews; furbabies Graham and Mitzi as well as numerous train buddies.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local humane society.

Visitation will be 12:00 – 1:30 PM, Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville.
