Houston Haltom, 93 died Monday, December 28, 2009 at his home in Bryant, Arkansas with family by his side.
Houston was born in Degray, Arkansas, April 24, 1916 to father Omer and mother Maggie Lee McBrayer Haltom. Houston was a life-long Caddo Valley resident where he was very active in the community serving as the Mayor of Caddo Valley, volunteer firefighter for Caddo Valley Fire Department and Deacon Emeritus for the Caddo Valley Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sons; Kenneth and wife Betty of Benton, Arkansas and Stephen and wife Pamela of Arp, Texas; 2 Brothers, Clyde Haltom of Redding California, and Harold Haltom of Eufaula, Oklahoma; 2 Sisters, Verna Mae Yancy of Farmington, Arkansas and Alice Kirksey of Malvern; grandchildren, Crystal Kindervater and Lonya Robertson, both of Benton, Arkansas; Leticia Cross of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Sarah Haltom of Dallas, Texas; Felicia Haltom of Arp, Texas and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 1, 2010 in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Arkadelphia, Arkansas with Rev. Greg Kirksey officiating. Burial to follow at Caddo Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Caddo Valley Cemetery fund c/o John Frazier, 208 E. Dodson, Arkadelphia, AR. 71923.
